International medical students from the MC group.m-007an got acquainted with the Ukrainian new year and Christmas traditions, and also joined the preparation of 12 dishes on Christmas Eve.

By studying the course of Ukrainian as a foreign language, students who come to study at Sumy State University from different countries of the world not only acquire communication skills and abilities, but also learn the richness of the Ukrainian cultural heritage. New year's and Christmas rituals are one of the richest and brightest in traditional folk practices. These holidays are also famous for their refined gastronomic culture.

Associate professor of Department of language training for foreign citizens Alla Yarova told students about Ukrainian Christmas, greeting customs, special language greeting formulas that Ukrainians use at Christmas, Christmas Eve, the tradition of cooking twelve Lenten dishes, and among them the most important – kutia. She shared a recipe for cooking this ritual dish. And the students Anisha, Shobi Seba Mara, Thulaseedgaran Rema Gouri Vandgana, who came to study from India, expressed a desire to join the virtual joint festive dinner with their most famous national dishes.

So, Christmas Eve 2021 will be remembered for its wonderful Indian flavor. Below are National Indian dishes.
