On September 26, European countries celebrate the European Day of Languages. Conferences, exhibitions, concerts and solemn lectures, open classes dedicated to the diversity, richness, beauty, and uniqueness of each language are held on this day.

The teachers of the Department of Language Training of Foreign Citizens were no exception, who together with foreign students joined the holiday and conducted educational activities with their students online.

Thus, S.S. Zaytseva with students of the group MC.m-837i held an educational event "European bilingualism - equality of all languages". During the lesson with students, the importance of using not only English, French, German, but also other languages in the official institutions of the European Union as a way to support linguistic diversity was raised.

Pylypenko-Fritzak N.A. and Cherniakova A.V. held a solemn event "European Day of Languages - a holiday that unites countries", which was attended by foreign students - members of the group "Descendants of Hippocrates" and students of groups MC.m-107 and MC.m-116.

So, on behalf of Indian students Syed Mubaasher Irfan (MC.m-737) congratulated everyone on the holiday and read her own poem. "In the poem, I wanted to say about the beauty of the Ukrainian language, about my love to it and that I am sure that Ukraine will win the terrible war and soon everyone will be safe," - said Syed Mubaashera Irfan.

Students prepared a presentation for the educational event, presented reports on the history and purpose of the holiday, the most common languages and languages that are on the verge of extinction. The event was decorated by the drawings of students Abzal Khan Absan (MC.m-107), Kumar Manish (MC.m-116), Gavisiddappa Karibasamma Gaanashree (MC.m-129), Duppala Sai Pritam (MG.m-129), Sain Jatin (MC.m-129), who presented their vision of the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe, the need to strengthen intercultural understanding.

It is necessary to mention, that in 2001, the European Commission and the Council of Europe initiated the creation of a new holiday - the European Day of Languages. Twenty-one years in a row on this day in Europe solemn events are held to draw attention to the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of our world.

We thank our colleagues and foreign students for interesting educational activities and wish them new achievements in language learning!
