On October 27, 2022, the International Forum of Virtual Teaching and Learning was held at the initiative of Sumy State University and international educational institutions of the Philippines and Thailand. The teachers of the department Alina Cherniakova and Inna Levenok participated in the planned event.

The project aims to spread the best practices in the development of digital educational technologies in Ukraine and abroad. Sumy State University researchers K. Kyrychenko, A. Krasulya and partners from the Philippine Polytechnic College acted as moderators.

The speakers highlighted the positive and negative consequences of digitalization of education, as well as clarified the prospects of introducing advanced technologies into the educational process. It is emphasized that a modern educational institution must go through the path of digital transformation. The transition to a digital educational institution involves the use of flexible processes, taking into account the formation of an adaptive corporate culture and the optimization of educational and social processes. Digitization of education can be successful if the educational process, based on the application of information and communication technologies, is aimed at specific users, has a specific content, is based on interesting content, good motivation of students (pupils), a well-established software and technical base.

An example of virtual learning using digital and information and communication technologies in the practice of teaching the Ukrainian language can be the language hub-laboratory for foreign students Ukr.Lang.Laboratory for foreign students in the Facebook social network (access requires authorization).
