Teachers of the department annually participate in the "Pedagogical Innovations of Sumy State University" competition. This year was no exception, teachers do not stand aside, but work on the development of new modern forms and methods of learning, their distribution and active implementation of innovative technologies in the educational process to ensure a high level of quality of providing educational services to students of higher education.

According to the results of this year's competition "Pedagogical innovations of Sumy State University - 2022", the third place in nomination 1 "Contact training" was won by the lecturers of the Department Olha P. Sydorenko and Inna S. Levenok  with the competitive project "Implementation of the language hub-laboratory Ukr.Lang.Laboratory for foreign students in the Facebook social network in classes on Ukrainian as a foreign language". Also, the third prize in nomination 5 "Lifelong education, post-graduate education and professional development" was awarded to department lecturers  Larysa V. Bidenko, Yevhenia Yu. Burnos, Natalia A. Pylypenko-Fritsak, with the project "Short-term professional development course with methods of teaching the Ukrainian language as a foreign language''.

For an active participation in the competition with the project "National value and patriotic education of the personality in the process of language training in the system of international university education in the conditions of martial law (online format)", honorable thanks were announced to Natalia A. Pylypenko-Fritsak and Alina V. Chernyakova.
