On November 16, a methodical workshop on “Interethnic Tolerance: A View of Student Youth” was organized on the basis of the Institute of Medicine by the Department’s teachers and the Center for Euro-Initiative’s volunteers from Turkey and Italy.

Teachers of the Department Alla V. Rodenko and Maryna S. Kazandzhyieva were trained at the Prague University of Economics (October 22 – November 7, 2018, Czech Republic).

Teachers of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens hold integrative meetings, trainings, socio-cultural events within the framework of the project “Social Integration of Foreign Students under the Conditions of Internationalization of Higher Education”.

Representatives of the Department of Language Preparation for Foreign Citizens of the SSU took part in the Summer School of Diplomacy organized by the Institute of International and Academic Cooperation. The purpose of the international internship is to study innovative educational platforms and to provide foreign experience in the work of diplomatic services in a multicultural educational environment in Ukraine.

On May 26-27, 2018, a scientific and practical conference «Topical Issues of Contemporary Performance on Traditional Kobzar Instruments» was held at the Ivan Honchar Museum (Kyiv).

On May 22-23, 2018, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Scientific Community of the Students of the XXI Century" was held on the basis of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens at Sumy State University. Such an event was held for the first time at the department.

Maryna M. Nabok, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens, took part in the IV International Scientific Conference “Language and Culture in the Space of New Technologies: Problems of Modern Communication” (Kiev, April 27, 2018).

On April 25-26, 2018, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference “Topical Problems of Foreign Students’ Studying at the Present Stage” was held at the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens. The conference has already become traditional for our department. This year, it was conducted online for the first time.

On April 20, Sumy Branch of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted the IX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Students’ Conference “Topical Issues in Modern Science and Law”.

Sumy State University is always glad to new students. This time the library conducted an excursion for future medical students, who are now studying language at the Preparatory Department. The students got acquainted with the resources of the library, visited the hall of rare editions, the literary reception room, and the study hall.
