On November 20-26, 2017, Larysa V. Bidenko and Alla A. Silka, Associate Professors of the Department of Language Training of Foreign Citizens of Sumy State University, underwent refresher course at the Department of General and Russian Linguistics at the Brest State University named after A. S. Pushkin (Belarus).

As part of this course, our Associate Professors studied the experience of organizing language training for foreign students, gave lectures for students and organized training on distance learning issues. In addition, at the request of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, Larysa V. Bidenko and Alla A. Silka presented our experience in new approaches to the teaching of Slavic languages as foreign languages.

Lecturers of the department presented their materials at the annual VIII International Scientific Conference “Slavonic Languages: System-Descriptive and Socio-Cultural Aspects of Research”. As a part of the conference, Larysa V. Bidenko and Alla A. Silka met with scientists from Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Slovenia and Uzbekistan with a view to further cooperation.

The distance course on the Ukrainian language for students from Sri Lanka and Turkey, presented by our Associate Professors, earned accolades from Polish and Czech Language Pedagogy lecturers. Innovative technologies, presented in poster reports, were also highly appreciated by the conference participants.
