The Ukrainian (Russian) language for foreign students is taught according to the state educational standard in language training for foreign citizens.

This standard is defined by Ukrainian (Russian) as a foreign language programs that are developed in accordance with the communication needs of different categories of foreign citizens, who receive higher education in Ukrainian higher education establishments. The programs correlate with Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR (levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).

The control of knowledge and skills is carried by a credit-modular system that helps to improve the quality of education due to systematic work of students during the semester.

During the educational process we use textbooks, study guides and training aids that were created by the lecturers of the department. Many of these publications are also known outside the SSU.

The department also offers distance courses of Ukrainian and Russian for English-speaking students.

To facilitate the educational process modern teaching technologies and blended learning methods are used.
