On February 21, Alla Yarova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens of SSU, held a public lecture “ the Ukrainian language daily”.

The students were interested in modern language norms, the reasons for deviation from them, and together with the lecturer they looked for effective ways to overcome language blunders. Foreign students studying law and economics at Sumy State University and listening to the course “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language” also attended the event.

It should be noted that International Mother Language Day has been celebrated in the world since 2000 in support of UNESCO's linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
