In the Academic Art Gallery the opening of the exhibition of graphics and painting "Topography of Koktebel" took place. The author of the pieces is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Ihor Shvachunov. The artist repeatedly acquainted students and teachers of higher education with his creative achievement.

The organization of the exhibition completed the mastering of students of the specialty "Management of socio-cultural activities" of the new course "Topography of Culture", and also became a good example of the implementation of the intercultural strategy of SSU.

This time the Sumy artist represented a series of graphic works (watercolors) and colorful sketches depicting the topography of the Crimean Koktebel. It is known that the famous Crimean poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin lived and worked there. Repeatedly in Koktebel, a Sumy artist has studied and explored the surrounding mountain ranges and gorges, bays and coves, the extinct volcano Karadag. All these places were reproduced in the sketches and compositions of Ihor Shvachunov. Students of the 4th year of the specialty "Management of socio-cultural activity" Alina Vakula, Victoria Belotserkivets, Yulia Gonchar, Tatiana Shevchenko took an active part in organizing the exhibition. With their efforts, the exhibition was built, the hanging up of the works was made. On opening day, they also visualized the poetry of M. Voloshin as a choreographic composition.

Particular importance and charm were given to the participation of foreign students studying at the institutes of Academic and Research Institute of Law and at Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies “UAB”. 1st-year student Ahmet Melik Demirok (Turkey) fascinated the audience with readings of poetic works by one of the most famous Turkish poets Suleyman Nazif (1870 - 1927), and a first-year student Akmal Tairov (Turkmenistan) offered the participants his translation of the poetry. It should be noted that the opening of the exhibition was attended by students from Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Nigeria and India.

Alla Yarova, Associate Professor of our Department, who teaches language courses to foreign students, noted that the Academic Gallery, through the exchange of cultural achievements between people from different countries, nationalities, religions and political views, makes an important contribution to the implementation of the Sumy State University's intercultural strategy.

Among the honored guests of the opening day were the members of the expert council of employers, in particular, Vladislav Terentyev, the director of the Sumy Regional Museum of Local History. The exhibition will run until March 18, 2020.
