Every year, at the end of September, libraries in Ukraine celebrate their professional holiday – the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries.

On September 30, students from around the world congratulated the library staff of the Medical Institute of Sumy State University and took part in the festive flash mob “The Library Unites”. Congratulations in different languages and kind words that sounded in honor of the holiday gave festive spirit.

“For me, our library is a place of knowledge, science and information. A place where I can use the books I need, surf the Internet, chat with friends and discuss scientific innovations”, said Olisa Afamefuma Stefan Dada, a student from Nigeria.

When asked if libraries are needed in the modern world of computer technology, a student from Nigeria Ekpe Onyinyechi Peace Ibitoru answered: “Of course are needed! When I hold a book, look through its pages, I seem to be talking to the author, I feel the energy and magic of that book”.

Students from India noted that the library is the kingdom of books, the main treasury of knowledge and spiritual achievements of mankind. Therefore, as long as people need knowledge, libraries will exist.

Foreign students thanked the friendly staff of the library and wished them peace, kindness and harmony, new ideas and professional achievements.
