To get acquainted and to exchange experience with colleagues-Ukrainianists, teachers of our department visited Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) is the largest state university in eastern Poland, which since its foundation (1944) has become a leading scientific center. To date, more than 200,000 people have graduated from the university, about 4,000 have received their Ph.D., 900 specialists defended their doctoral dissertations. Currently, about 25,000 students study at the university (in 50 directions, 200 specialties and 11 faculties).

Our lecturers visited the Faculty of Humanities, which includes nine institutes: English Studies, Archeology, Information Science and Library, Polish Studies, Romance Studies, Slavonic Studies, German Studies and Applied Linguistics, History, Culture Studies, and the Department of Logopedics and Applied Linguistics with the Logopedic Laboratory.

At the Institute of Slavonic Studies, a fruitful conversation with the head of Ukrainian Studies, Ms. Lyubov Frolyak took place. Lyubov Frolyak, doctor in humanistic sciences, is a specialist with extensive experience and knowledge. During the conversation, the lecturers discussed plans for possible cooperation (participation in conferences, publication of scientific works, exchange of educational materials and experience in methods of language teaching, etc.).

The city itself also left a pleasant impression, it surprised with centuries-old history, interesting architecture and pleasant communication with locals.
