“And to your neighbours’ gifts pay heed, — yet do not thus neglect your own…” (Taras Shevchenko, “I mertvym I zhyvym” (“To the Dead, the Living…”), translated by C. H. Andrusyshen & W. Kirkconnell)

The third-year foreign students of Medical Institute began studying Ukrainian language.

The intensive course will be read in the VIII semester. During this period students will not only learn to read, write and communicate in Ukrainian in everyday life, but also they’ll familiarize themselves with professional vocabulary of the chosen specialty, deepen their knowledge of the history and culture of the Ukrainian people. Thus, to celebrate the International Mother Tongue Day, which is on February 21, students are preparing to read the Great Kobzar Taras Shevchenko’s “Testament” (“Zapovit”) in Ukrainian and translations of this genius poem in native languages.
