At the initiative of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University, the online educational event "Ukrainian Educational Universe 2.0" and the International Scientific and Practical Seminar "Online Resources for Learning Ukrainian as a Foreign Language in New Challenge", took place. At these scientific events the work of teachers of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens was praised. The teachers of the Department created a distance learning course of Ukrainian as a foreign language.

All those interested in learning the Ukrainian language were gathered by the online event "Ukrainian Educational Universe 2.0", which took place on November 19 at the initiative of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event was joined by the Head of the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens Sydorenko O. P., teachers of the department Pylypenko-Fritsak N. A. and Vorona N. O.

Within the framework of the event, the International scientific-practical seminar "Online resources for learning Ukrainian as a foreign language in the face of new challenges" was held. The topic of the seminar was organizing and conducting online classes on Ukrainian as a foreign language as well as educational and methodical resources and features of the educational materials creation for usage during the remote work, etc. Hanna Shvets, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Russian as Foreign Languages, Taras Shevchenko National University (Kyiv) in her report “Online resources on studying Ukrainian as foreign language” noted that "a distance learning course of Ukrainian for foreign students was developed at the Department of Language Training for Foreign Citizens, Sumy State University four years ago, when we couldn’t even think it would become a daily practice." Uliana Plavushchak-Pidzametska (Canada), a Research Fellow, Laboratory of the educational informatics, Technological University Ontario, a Doctoral Candidate at Educational school of Glasgow University; Halyna Barliak (Italy). Head of the «Seed» Centre aimed at learning and protection the Ukrainian language and Nazar Danchyshyn (Ukraine), Seniour Fellow the МІОК, also joined the discussion.

The event included a presentation of updates to the portal "Ukrainian Educational Universe 2.0", which was created for Ukrainian educators, teachers of Ukrainian language together with Sunday schools’ teachers abroad, scientists and all the people interested in learning the Ukrainian language. Summing up the benefits of the project, the moderators noted that the portal "Ukrainian educational universe" is:
• the first and the only one online map of the Ukrainian educational institutions throughout the world;
• the latest communication platform for active Ukrainian educators;
• an exceptional opportunity to interact;
• a forum where educators from all over the world will hear you;
• a platform for the exchange of experience and acquired materials;
• source of information about the activities of the Ukrainian studies institutions all over the world and the base of their contacts;
• opportunity to form joint author teams;
• effective access to ads, announcements and messages.

Online event “Ukrainian educational Universe 2.0” “has an important meaning for the development of the Ukrainian educational space throughout the world. Portal has already become the noticeable phenomenon. It facilitates the rapprochement of the Ukrainian spheres, makes possible experience exchange as well as new ambitious projects creation. Thanks to the portal Ukrainians throughout the world may know each other better. Discussion about the organization and conducting the Ukrainian classes online is also of great importance”, – stresses Vice-Chancellor, National University “Lviv polytechnics” Oleh Matviikiv.
